Cleaning Hacks Using Magic Erasers

Cleaning Hacks Using Magic Erasers

Do you ever walk around your house and see all the little marks everywhere, impossible stains on cookware, and scuffed-up baseboards? I do, and it drives me CRAZY! I recently started seeing Cleaning Hacks Using Magic Erasers so I decided to put them to the test. To be honest I really had no idea what these little genius gifts from God were until recently, and boy am I glad they are in my life now.

Magic Erasers are just melamine foam, which is a natural base that can be used for its abrasive properties. There are no chemicals in Magic Erasers. I don’t know about you but, this is awesome news. With three little kids at home and multiple pets, it’s nice to have a product that isn’t chalk full of dangerous stuff. You should wear cleaning gloves when using Magic Erasers since they can be abrasive on your skin, even though they feel so smooth. Also, always test a small spot of what you are cleaning prior to doing a large area.  So, what can you clean with a Magic Eraser?  Read on for some Cleaning Hacks using Magic Erasers that I have tested and am employing in my cleaning routine.

Baseboards

Baseboards are constantly getting scuffed up and dirty; kids running in and out dogs playing rough, it never ends, and the marks are constantly accumulating. You can use a Magic Eraser to get these scuff marks out easily. I have white baseboards and was thoroughly impressed by how the Magic Eraser made them look brand new!

Shower Base and Bathtub

Shower bases and tubs can start getting a dingy hue after a while, even some of the toughest cleaners have trouble getting them to look good again. Take a Magic Eraser to it with some elbow grease and your tub and shower base will be white again.

Hard Water Stains

If you have hard water you know how frustrating it can be to keep your glass shower doors clear. Magic Erasers are great at getting soap scum and hard water stains off your glass doors to give you a clear shower door again.

Burnt Glass Cookware

This one was magic to me. Simply scrub away burnt spots and your glass cookware will look new again.

Shoes

Scuffed-up shoes, no problem. Magic Eraser will have them looking white again!

Remove Permanent Marker

If you have kids, you know. Get yourself some Magic Erasers for this reason alone.

Remove Stains

Definitely test a small area with this one first. I have had an ink stain on a chair for the longest time and have come to accept it. I took the Magic Eraser to it and with a little time and effort it came out!

Clean your Glass Stovetop

A little scrubbing with one of these bad boys and your stovetop will shine like new. PURE MAGIC!

Oven Window Glass

Oven windows can look downright gross, but not anymore. Take a Magic Eraser to it and you will be able to see into your oven again!

What To Not Use a Magic Eraser On

Don’t use a Magic Eraser without spot-testing first. You don’t want to use them on your countertops as they can take off the shiny protective surface making them look dull. Magic Erasers are not for polishing stainless steel, this will cause your stainless steel to have scuff marks, the opposite of what you want! Definitely don’t use them to polish your car, it will make your paint look dull! Again, always wear gloves when using these, and always wet the Magic Erasers prior to use.
