The next step is to put everything back IN your closet, in a pretty and organized fashion. Start with your clothes, since they are probably what take up the most room in your closet.
Begin by sorting your clothes into piles that make sense. For example, a pile of pants, sweaters, blouses, sweatshirts etc. Then, hang everything nicely on hangers and then into your closet. I organize mine from left to right as, jackets, sweatshirts, sweaters, blouses, dresses, dress pants, jeans, and then exercise pants. This is the order that made sense to me, your order may be different just make sure you put similar things together.
If you have hats, you can get a hat organizer that you attach to a hanger, then clip all your hats on and hang up the hanger. This will keep your hats organized, in one location, and easy to see. You can also use one of these for scarves. GAME CHANGER.
For shoes, you can get a shoe organizer that you attach to the back of the closet door. Using one of these will get shoes off your floor and organized in one location.
If you are keeping any small sentimental items or nick-nacks, get a decorative container like a woven basket to keep these in, this way it is organized, aesthetically pleasing, and in one location.
For any blankets that you store in your closet, put them in long totes. Keeping them in totes will prevent dust and dust mites from settling on them. If you can put them up high on a shelf in your closet put them there. Try to keep everything off your floor.
