Removing Mold and Soap Scum
Once you start seeing mold spots, soap buildup, and gross slimy pink stuff you know you are past due for a good cleaning. A hack I recently tested and LOVED for this problem, was making a paste out of baking soda and bleach. Simply mix one part baking soda to one part bleach and cake it on where you need it in the shower. Let the mix sit for about 30 minutes so it has time to do its job. After 30 minutes, get your favorite electric scrubber, this is my favorite, Electric Spin Scrubber or rough sponge brush and start scrubbing. I was honestly impressed by how easily everything came off with this paste. I also put the paste in the bathroom sinks and around my tub while I was waiting, it cleaned them amazingly well too!
Cleaning the Glass Shower Door and Walls
We have hard water where we live so we always have problems with hard water buildup in the shower. Hard water buildup makes the glass cloudy, streaky, and not that oh-so-clean look. For this problem, a shower cleaning tip and trick is to get a spray bottle, vinegar, and Dawn dish soap. I made a 1:1 mix for this hack as well. Shake it up and spray everywhere! Let it sit for just a minute to loosen up all that gunk, rinse it with water, and then wipe it down with a microfiber cloth. Whaalaa, you now have a beautiful and clean shower! I’ve been leaving this spray bottle in the shower and spraying down everything after each shower. I love knowing I am getting a clean shower without all those super harsh chemicals.
Shower Head Cleaning
To clean the shower head simply get a gallon size zip lock baggie and fill it with one cup of vinegar, place the bag around the shower head so that it is submerged in the vinegar. Let this sit for about 30 minutes then remove. Simple as that.

[…] There are a TON of products on the market for shower cleaning, how the heck are you supposed to know what to use, and why are some of them so strong they burn your eyes?! I don’t want that in my home or near my kids. For this hack, you will also need an empty spray bottle. Side note, make sure you always label your bottles so you know what you are working with. To make a shower cleaning spray mix one cup of vinegar with one cup of Dawn Dish Soap in your spray bottle. Next, you will heavily spray down your shower. I let this sit for a minute to help loosen any soap residue. After that, rinse with water and wipe off with either a microfiber cloth or a squeegee. There you have it, a super clean shower without all those crazy chemicals. For more on Shower cleaning hacks read, Shower Cleaning Tips and Tricks […]
